How to make Street-Style Chowmein at home

Street-Style Chowmein Recipe

Street-Style Chowmein is a classic evening meal that can be easily made at home. To make this, you need noodles, veggies, and some classic sauces and you are good to go. Scroll down to read the simplest recipe.

Ingredients

200 g noodles, 1 tbsp oil, 3–4 cloves garlic, 1 small onion, ½ cup cabbage, ½ cup capsicum, 1/2 cup carrot, 1–2 green chilies, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp chilli sauce, 1 tsp vinegar, salt and black pepper to taste, 1 tsp tomato ketchup, and spring onions for garnish

Step 1


To begin with, boil the noodles along with 2 cups of water, and a pinch of salt and oil.

Drain and rinse with cold water to prevent sticking.

Heat oil in a wok or pan on high flame.

Add chopped garlic and green chilies; sauté for a few seconds until fragrant. Also, add onions and vegetables like carrot, cabbage, capsicum and stir-fry on high heat for 2–3 minutes so they remain crunchy.

Next, add the boiled noodles, soy sauce, chilli sauce, vinegar, and ketchup. Mix well.

Season with salt and black pepper, mix well, and cook for another minute. Garnish with spring onions and serve hot.
