South Indian Lauki Paniyaram

If you are a South Indian food lover and looking for a hydrating Saturday breakfast, then try this Lauki Paniyaram recipe. Made with grated lauki, sooji, and minimal spices, this healthy breakfast can be made in less than 30 minutes and make for a hydrating beginning of summer weekend. Scroll down to read the recipe.

Ingredients



1 cup lauki, 1 cup semolina, ½ cup curd, 1 small onion, 1 green chili, 1 tsp grated ginger, 2 tbsp coriander leaves, salt to taste, ½ tsp cumin seeds, ¼ tsp baking soda, water as needed, and oil for greasing

Step 1


Peel, wash, and grate bottle gourd and squeeze out all excess water.

Add it to a mixing bowl along with curd and sooji. Mix well.

Chop onion, chili, ginger, and coriander leaves and add them to the mixture. Combine well.

Add salt, cumin, and baking soda and let it rest for 5 minutes.

Heat and grease the paniyaram pan well and pour the batter in the cavities.

Cover and cook for 5 minutes, flip and cook from the other side too. Serve hot with coconut chutney and sambar.
