South Indian Curd Rice Recipe

South Indian Curd Rice is a classic and comforting one-pot meal that can be easily made a home. With the sudden change in weather and the rising mercury, it is important to keep the stomach cool and light. And the best way to do so, is to provide it with probiotic and fiber to make it working even more effective. Take a look at this comforting dish that can be easily made at home. Ingredients


1 cup cooked rice, 1 cup fresh curd, 1/2 cup milk, salt to taste, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1 tbsp oil, ½ tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp urad dal, 1–2 dried red chillies, 8–10 curry leaves, 1 green chilli, 1 tbsp grated ginger, 2 tbsp grated carrot, 1 tbsp coriander leaves, 1 tbsp pomegranate seeds, and 1 tbsp roasted peanuts

Step 1


Transfer cooked and cooled rice in a bowl.

Whisk curd well and combine it with cooled rice. Add milk to adjust the consistency of the dish.

Add grated carrot, salt and black pepper and mix again.

Heat oil in a small pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Then add urad dal and fry until golden.

Also, add dried red chillies, curry leaves, green chilli, and grated ginger. Sauté for a few seconds.

Pour the tempering over the curd rice and mix gently. Garnish with coriander leaves, pomegranate seeds, and roasted peanuts.
