How to make Lauki ka Kofta for weekend lunch at home

Lauki Ka Kofta Recipe

This one is for all those who have been avoiding lauki considering it is boring and tasteless. Try this basic and simple kofta recipe made with grated lauki, besan, and spices. Scroll down to read the detailed recipe.

Ingredients


2 cups grated lauki, 2–3 tbsp besan, 1 green chilli, ½ tsp red chilli powder, ½ tsp haldi, salt to taste, oil for frying, 2 onions, 2 tomatoes, 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste, ½ tsp haldi, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp dhania powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala, 2 tbsp fresh cream, 2 tbsp oil, and coriander leaves

Step 1


First of all, peel and grate lauki and squeeze the excess water.

To this, add besan, salt, and spices and shape them into small balls.

Heat oil in a kadhai and deep fry these kofta balls on medium heat until golden brown. Keep them aside.

In the same kadhai, add more oil and onions and sauté till golden.

Next, add ginger-garlic paste and cook till fragrant. Also, add tomato puree and cook till oil separates.

Now, add all the dry spices and salt and cook well for 2-5 minutes.

Add water and simmer 5–7 minutes. Now, add the kofta balls and bring it to a boil.

Garnish with cream, garam masala and coriander leaves. Serve hot with roti or rice.
