Chicken Kadi Patta Recipe

Chicken Kadi Patta is an aromatic and flavourful chicken preparation, best enjoyed with parotta or appam. This special chicken dish uses two types of spice blends, one in powder and another in paste form, which together enhance the taste of meat and make for a delectable dish. Ingredients

1 tbsp black pepper, to 5 dry red chilies, 1 cup curry leaves, 1 tbsp coriander seeds, 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, 250 g chicken thighs, ⅓ cup curd, salt a pinch, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 2 tbsp garlic cloves, 1 onion, 1 tbsp ginger, 3 green chilies, 2 tbsp oil, ½ tsp cumin seeds, 1 onion, salt to taste, 1 tsp garam masala

Step 1


First of all, wash the chicken pieces and set them aside.

Marinate the chicken pieces in curd, salt, and lemon juice in a deep mixing bowl. And let them rest for 20 minutes.

To prepare the spice powder, dry roast black pepper, red chillies, curry leaves, coriander seeds, and cumin seeds.

Blend them into a fine powder and set it aside.

In another blender jar, blend garlic, onion, ginger, green chillies, and water to make a smooth paste.

Heat oil in a pan, add cumin and onion. Saute for 1 minute.

Add the marinated chicken, ground masala paste and curry leaves powder mix too. Combine well, add water and cover. Cook for 5 minutes.

Add salt, garam masala, and mix. Cook for 4 minutes and serve hot with parotta or appam.
