Here is how people are providing themselves from their garden
The coronavirus lockdown has highlighted the importance of being self-sufficient. People are now making use of the open areas around their homes to plant veggies and herbs. Hansel Vaz from Colva, has planted over a variety of veggies on the building terrace. “I removed all the ornamental plants and replaced them with veggies. He has planted aubergine, pumpkin, lime leaf, spices like turmeric, ginger and herbs basils, chives and fruits too like, muskmelons, pineapples too.”
Dr Meenacshi Martins, too has used her free time into something she is very passionate about, gardening. “We have a lot of time and making the best of it is important.”
