This simple South Indian recipe is not just great in taste, but is also good for healing digestion.

Made by mixing rice and hung curd along with pomegranate seeds followed by a tempering of whole red chilies, curry leaves, mustard seeds and mild spices. This dish is great for a healthy detox and better weight management.

Khichdi

This classic Indian meal needs no introduction. Made with rice and dal cooked together with veggies, mild spices and ghee is great for healing digestion and helps in improving gut health.

Panta Bhaat

This traditional recipe hails from the Eastern part of the country, especially Odisha and Bengal, where this fermented rice is consumed to heal the digestive ailments and calm the system. This simple delicacy is nothing but leftover rice soaked in water overnight with a dash of salt. This rice is consumed the next day with Aloo Pitika/ Aloo Chokha, Mustard oil, chopped onions, lemon slices and green chilies along with salt. This meal is also good for inducing sleep and treating stomach issues.

Dahi Chidwa

Another Indian meal is Dahi Chidwa which makes for a delicious breakfast treat and is great for calming the digestive heat and cleansing the system. Whisk cold curd with some sugar and add soaked poha for chiwda. Mix it together and enjoy.

This quintessential Bengali condiment is made with a blend of poppy seeds, grated coconut, mustard oil, salt, and green chilies. Served with hot steamed rice, Posto Bata is great for calming the digestive system and boosting bone health.
