When it comes to a balanced diet, eggs are offered as an integral part of it. After all, eggs are a powerhouse of nutrition, packed with high-quality protein, essential vitamins, and minerals. They are also rich in vitamin B12, choline, and omega-3 fatty acids, which support brain function, heart health, and metabolism. Eggs also contain antioxidants like lutein and zeaxanthin, which promote good eye health and reduce the risk of age-related vision problems. They are also said to improve good cholesterol (HDL) levels, when consumed in moderation. As per the National Library of Medicine, eggs are rich in choline, folate, vitamin D, iodine, B vitamins and high-quality protein and are no longer viewed by national bodies as a risk factor for hypercholesterolaemia and cardiovascular disease. Hence, eggs make for a healthier choice for a balanced diet. It's just one should make sure to consume eggs in moderation to avoid any side effects. One boiled egg contains around 68-70 calories. The best part is, it is rich in all nutrients including protein, vitamin B12, vitamin A, D, B2, B5, iron, and zinc and has zero added fat.

One poached egg offers almost the same calories like a boiled egg, which is around 65-68 calories. As we know that it is cooked in water, it is fat and high in protein and makes for a perfect treat for those who are on a weight loss diet.

Scrambled Eggs


One serving of scrambled eggs offer around 90-100 calories. It is easy to digest and healthy, but can be high in calories when cooked in a lot of butter. The use of ingredients like capsicum and spinach, increases the fiber content which makes it a healthier option.
