Foods to avoid to boost liver health

The liver is a vital organ that performs a wide range of essential functions to keep your body healthy. It plays a key role in metabolizing nutrients from the foods you eat, converting them into energy and essential building blocks for the body. It also acts as a detoxifier and helps in producing bile, which helps digest fats, and stores important nutrients like vitamins and minerals. Additionally, it helps regulate blood sugar levels, cholesterol, and clotting factors. Hence, it is important to eat healthy to keep the liver healthy. Sugar drinks and processed food



As per Dr Sethi fructose found in sugary drinks and many processed foods can lead to fat buildup in the liver. Unlike glucose, fructose is metabolized primarily in the liver contributing to fatty liver diseases.

Seed oil


As per Dr Sethi, seed oils like soybeans, sunflower, and corn oil are rich in omega-6 fatty acids and an excessive intake of omega-6 can promote inflammation and oxidative stress in the liver.

Fruit juices



As per Dr Sethi, even 100 percent fruit juices can be loaded with fructose and lack fiber, leading to rapid spikes in blood sugar. These spikes can contribute to fatty liver.

Eat a balanced diet

Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Try to avoid too much sugar, processed foods, and saturated fats, as they can put extra stress on your liver.
