And when the elaborate Eid table takes the centre stage, egg come as the most versatile, affordable, and protein-rich option to add variety to your festive spread without spending hours in the kitchen. From light snack to comforting main course and even aromatic dessert, eggs can be tweaked in many ways. Here are ten traditional and comforting egg dishes for the Eid celebration that can be made at home.
Egg Korma
The traditional Eid table is full of rich and aromatic dishes and this one makes for the perfect deal. It is a rich yet easy dish made by simmering boiled eggs in a creamy gravy of yogurt, nuts, and mild spices. It pairs well with naan, rumali roti and even jeera rice.
Nargisi Kofta
This is a Mughali main course curry dish, where boiled eggs are coated with spiced minced meat (or even a vegetarian potato layer) and then fried and later simmered in tomato-cashew curry.
Egg Biryani
This is an aromatic rice preparation and makes for the grand dish on the Eid table. Anda Paratha
This comes as a main course delight and goes well with all types of curries. To make it, you need to stuff whole wheat dough with spiced egg mixture and cook on a tawa.
Egg Chaat
Eid celebration is incomplete without a chaat platter and if you want to make it unqiue then, skip aloo tikki and think eggs.
