In a recent development, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced a new policy that allows passengers to carry up to two sealed liquor bottles during their metro journeys. This decision marks a significant change in the metro's previous regulations and aims to ensure convenience and flexibility for commuters while maintaining the safety and comfort of all passengers.

The decision to permit the carriage of two sealed liquor bottles within the Delhi Metro system comes as a welcome relief for many passengers. This move acknowledges the changing preferences and requirements of commuters, offering them more convenience during their travels.

The new policy introduced by the DMRC comes with certain conditions and guidelines to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for all passengers. Here are some key aspects to consider:

The DMRC emphasizes that only sealed liquor bottles will be allowed on the metro. Passengers will not be permitted to consume their alcoholic beverages inside the metro coaches or on the premises. Each passenger is allowed to carry a maximum of two sealed liquor bottles. Exceeding this limit or carrying opened bottles could lead to penalties or denial of entry. It is also essential to note that the option to carry sealed bottles is solely for personal consumption at the passengers' destinations. Selling or distributing alcohol within the metro or on its premises is strictly prohibited.

The decision by the DMRC to allow passengers to carry up to two sealed liquor bottles during their metro journeys represents a significant change in the metro's policies. To maintain the decorum, the DMRC statement read, “Metro passengers are requested to maintain proper decorum while travelling. In case, any passenger is found behaving in an indecent manner under the influence of alcohol, suitable action shall be taken under the relevant provisions of law.” After this new change in Dehi Metro policy, passengers will be able to carry booze across Delhi-NCR.
