Have you tried these bizarre foods?

From pineapple pizza to fanta maggi, we have witnessed many viral and unexpected food combinations till date. But, do you know there are many such combinations that are a part of certain food cultures too? In a recent post on his blog, chef Sanjeev Kapoor said that it's time to embrace the bizarre and explore the unexpected, and fall in love with food in ways you can never have imagined. Are you ready? Buckle up, your taste buds are in for a roller coaster!

2/6

Ice Cream and French Fries

As per chef Sanjeev, the combination of hot, salty, crispy fries dunked into cold, creamy, sweet ice cream works really well. The contrast of temperatures and flavours create a bite that tastes absolutely delicious. He adds, it's pure magic.

3/6

Pizza Toppings: Peas or bananas

In his opinion, this might raise eyebrows, but in Sweden, they put bananas on pizza and in Brazil, green peas are a popular topping too. He suggests trying it and you might discover a new favourite.

4/6

Ketchup and Rice

We all have tried rice and sugar in childhood, but have you ever paired rice with tomato ketchup? In chef Sanjeev's opinion, it sounds strange, but is actually very tasty. The blandness of white rice pairs perfectly with the tangy kick of ketchup. As per his post, in the Philippines, they even enjoy banana ketchup with fried rice and noodles.

5/6

Chocolate Popcorn

The sweet and salty pairings have always been around, but this one is pure heaven, he claims. As per chef Sanjeev, chocolate tones down the saltiness of the popcorn while popcorn balances the sweetness of the chocolate.

6/6

Peanut butter on burgers

As per his post, New Yorkers swear by it, and you might too. A layer of creamy peanut butter on a juicy burger adds nuttiness, texture, and a flavour twist you didn't know about.
