Delicious prasad recipes for Diwali

Diwali is here and so is the time to immerse yourself in festivity, celebration and food. From decorating homes with lights to making rangoli and lighting up diyas to preparing delish food items, Diwali calls for several fun activities you can do with your friends and family. The evening puja too is an important event where people sing bhajan, do aarti of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi. It is essential to offer something sweet during the puja which is later distributed as prasadam or prasad to everyone in the family. Here are some of the tastiest prasad options you can choose this Diwali.

2/7

Kada prasad

The easiest to make and the most delicious in taste, kada prasad tops the list. Made with atta, desi ghee and sugar, this sweet delight looks as tempting as ever. If you want to make this halwa like Gurudwara-style, make sure you keep the ratio of atta, ghee and sugar the same.

3/7

Malpua

Small toasted pancakes soaked in sugar and garnished with rabri. Malpua is another delectable mithai you can offer in the Diwali prasad. They are easy to make as you just need to combine maida, sooji, sugar and make small pancakes on tawa. Later they need to be soaked in sugar syrup for that extra layer of sweetness.

4/7

Boondi ladoo

Another puja bhog essential which is offered to Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi is boondi ladoo. They too are easy to make as you just need to soak boondi in sugar syrup and boil it. Once the boondi puffs up and the mixture thickens, you can make small ladoos from it.

5/7

Gulab jamun

Gulab jamun is an all time favourite sweet, so why leave it behind on a festival like Diwali? You can make this sweet with maida, khoya, milk powder and even bread. These soft and spongy balls dipped in sugar syrup will definitely leave you craving for more

6/7

Besan prasad

Made with besan, ghee and sugar, besan prasad is a not-so-common yet tasty prasad offered during festivals. Barfis can also be made from this halwa. Apart from being delish, besan prasad also has the capacity to treat common cold and cough.

7/7

Kheel batashe

A must in every Diwali puja, kheel and batasha have been associated with Diwali since a long period of time. While batashe are sweet and crunchy, kheel are puffy and soft. This combination is also offered as a prasad in many temples.
