Recognizing the same, the latest Taste Atlas list has served up some well-earned recognition for Indian cuisine, placing six Indian cities on its coveted list of the 100 Best Food Cities in the World. Mumbai


The City of Dreams has been positioned at 5 and as per the website, the must try dishes are Bhelpuri, Vada Pav, Modak, and Ragda Pattice. And the best places to eat in Mumbai include Leopold Cafe, which is famous for its Tandoori, Keema, and Tikka. Next is Ram Ashraya, which is known for Medu Vada, Upma, and Nariyal Chutney. Shree Thaker Bhojanalay is also in the list, which is famous for Khichdi, Shrikhand, and Aamras. Mumbai's Nawab Saheb is famous for Dal Makahani, Paneer Tikka, and Sarso ka Saag.

Amritsar


Amritsar is at 43rd position and the must-try dishes are Amritsari Kulcha, Palak Paneer, Pinni, Sarson Da Saag, and Dal makhani. The best traditional places in Amritsar are Kesar Da Dhaba for its Phirni, Dal Makhani, and Palak Paneer. Bharawan Da Dhaba for its Shahi Paneer, Baigan Bharta, and Kulcha. And for those with a sweet tooth, Kheer at Crystal Restaurant is a must-try.

Delhi



The national capital is at 45th position and the must-try dishes here are Dal Makhani, Murgh Makhani, Chole Bhature, Pakora, and Gulab Jamun. And the best places to dine in Delhi are Dum Pukht, which is known for Kheer and Biryani. Next is Saravana Bhavan, which is famous for Idli, Uttapam, and Medu Vada. The website also suggests Bukhara a must-visit, which is known for its Dal Makhani, Phirni, and Tandoori Murgh.

Kolkata



The City of Joy is at 71st position and here the must-try dishes are Rasgulla, Aloo Chop, Roshmalai, Kathi Roll, and Sandesh. For dine-in, the website suggests visiting Tamarind, known for its Paneer Tikka, Chicken 65,and Chettinad Kozhi. Next is Chittaranjan Mistanna Bhandar for its Rasgulla. For non-veg lovers Allen's Kitchen is heaven for its Mutton Seekh Roll.

Hyderabad is at 50th position and the list of must-try dishes include Hyderabadi Biryani, Pesara Dosa, Chicken 65, Karachi Biscuit, and Idli. The best traditional places in Hyderabad include ITC Kohenir for its Hyderabadi Biryani, Karachi Bakery for its biscuits, and Jewel of Nizam for its Hyderabadi Biryani and Kheer.

Chennai is at 75th position, and the list of must-try dishes include Dosa, Idli, Chicken 65, Rumali Roti,and Sambar. The best traditional places in Chennai,includes Annalakshmi for its Paneer Tikka, Kulcha, and Palak Paneer. Peshawri for its Paneer Tikka, Murgh Tikka, and Tandoori Pomfret and Shree Mithai for its Kaju Katli.
