Don't cook these foods in an air fryer

Air fryer is becoming one of the popular kitchen appliances these days due to its efficiency. It’s often used to cook healthier dishes, as negligible amount of oil is used for cooking. It works exactly like oven, but in a better way and can also be used to cook crispier dishes. But, do you know, there are a few things that should never be cooked in an air fryer? While some can spoil the appliances, others might get burnt as they cannot bear the high temperature used for cooking food. (Images courtesy: Canva)

Cheese products

Melted cheese tastes great on burgers and sandwiches, doesn't it? But, you should never think of frying or heating it in an air fryer. If you put fresh cheese or any item made from it for frying, it will get stuck to the whole appliance and may even burn.

3/6

Rice

Rice can be heated and cooked in a microwave, but not in an air fryer. The reason for this is very simple, because rice cooks in water and water cannot be added to the fryer. Air fryers are not designed to heat or boil food. And this is why you shouldn’t cook rice in it.

4/6

Breads and Buns

Nothing can be better than a toaster for toasting bread, and if its not available, then people use a griddle. But, if you don’t have any of these, never toast the buns and breads in an air fryer. First, it might get burnt and second, high temperature may increase the carcinogenic properties.

5/6

Pasta

The air fryer is not designed for steaming and boiling purposes, and due to this one cannot cook pasta completely in it. However, if you have got boiled pasta, you can use the air fryer to cook it further. Also, air fryer can be used to make pasta chips, which are gaining a lot of popularity.

Other foods

Apart from these, it is not advised to cook Burgers and Pizzas in it, apart from vegetables with high water content. So, make sure that you remember these tips when cooking next in the air fryer.
