Impact of drinking cold water in summer

Drinking cold water during the summer season gives an instant relief and helps beat the heat. To stay hydrated in summer, people consume liquid drinks, in which along with ordinary water, people consume different types of drinks including lassi, juice and coconut water. According to experts, it is necessary to drink at least 8-10 glasses of water to stay hydrated. However, drinking water at the proper temperature is also important because it has a negative impact on your health. In order to quench their thirst in the summer season, it is believed that cold water is the best, which does provide an instant relief from the heat, but at the same time causes a lot of damage to the body. In Ayurveda, cold water has been described as harmful for health. Especially chilled water from the fridge should be avoided at all costs. Poorly impacts the digestion

In Ayurveda, it is believed that consuming cold water or drinks can weaken the digestive fire, known as Agni, and hinder the digestion process. According to Ayurvedic principles, digestion involves a series of processes that require heat, starting from the mouth and ending in the intestines. Also, some research suggests that cold water shrinks the blood vessels, which leads to digestive problems.

Causes sore throat

When you consume cold water from the fridge, it can cause mucus formation, due to which some people feel breathing issues. Due to which problems like sore throat, mucus, cold and throat swelling can occur.

Impacts on heart rate

Consumption of cold water can also reduce the heart rate of your body. According to a study, the tenth cranial nerve (vagus nerve) gets stimulated by drinking more cold water from the fridge. Nerves do the work of controlling the involuntary functions of the body. The effect of low temperature water is directly on the vagus nerve, due to which the heart rate decreases.

Causes headache

On drinking cold water or ice water immediately after coming from the sun. Consuming cold water can cool down many nerves in your spine, which affects the brain and leads to headaches. This situation can increase the problem for people suffering from sinus problems.

Increases weight

People who want to lose weight should not consume cold water. Due to cold water, it becomes difficult to burn the fat present in the body. Body fat hardens with fridge water, due to which there is a problem in reducing fat and weight does not decrease.
