Come summer, and the appetite goes down due to excessive heat and humidity. In such a situation, it is important to indulge in protein-rich meals that keep you full for longer and also provide energy to be active throughout the day. Sprouted Moong Salad or Chaat


It is packed with protein, fiber, and enzymes and is best served chilled with lemon juice, onions, cucumber, and mint for a refreshing start. Simply soak the moong beans for 8-12 hours and then steam for 5-10 minutes to make them soft. Later add onion, tomato, coriander, lemon juice, and spices and mix well. Refrigerate for an hour and enjoy it chilled.

Sattu Drink (Sattu Sharbat)



It is a cooling and protein-rich drink made from roasted Bengal gram flour. Mix it with water, lemon, salt, and cumin for a summer-friendly breakfast-on-the-go. One can also use chilled buttermilk in place of water, and also use raw chopped onion and coriander leaves to enhance the taste. The use of raw onion helps protect you from heatstroke as well and keep the gut light.

Paneer and Cucumber Roll



For this dish, use multigrain roti or lettuce wraps and fill it with crumbled paneer, cucumber, and mint chutney for a light, protein-packed breakfast wrap. The water content of cucumber helps you hydrate and the protein content of paneer keeps you full for longer. Also, the refreshing flavours of mint chutney keeps the gut cool.

Masala Egg Whites with Millet Toast


It is a low-fat, high-protein dish that uses egg whites scrambled with onions and green chillies and is served with a slice of toasted ragi or jowar bread. It is a filling breakfast choice and skipping the yolk helps keep the gut cool and calm.

Curd and Chana Bowl


A bowl of chilled curd topped with boiled kala chana, coriander, a dash of chaat masala, and flaxseeds is not just cooling but full of protein and probiotics as well. One can also add soaked poha (flattened rice) to add some healthy carb to the meal, which makes it energizing and filling as well.
