If your sense of fashion suits your personality and body type, you will automatically be comfortable and that’s most important. Also, I feel interesting elements on one’s dressing add character.Which colours do you prefer?I’m lucky because I can wear most colours. But, I love traditional and vibrant Indian colours such as indigo and turmeric the most. I think they suit the Indian temperament. However, over time, I’ve realised that the mehendi-green shade doesn’t look good on me. I used to love it, but every time I sported the colour, people would ask me if I was sick. So, ever since, I’ve stayed away from that shade of green.Your must-have accessories...I have a ring fixation. My mother has a collection of rings and I think that’s how I took to them. I love chunky rings that have a dramatic touch. Other than rings, I love accessories that have brass work or mirror work.Your idea of party wear...If it’s an award function, I’d either wear a long gown or traditional sari with kundan or polki jewellery.
But, if it’s a casual gathering, I’ll go with either jeans and shirt or a churidar.Best fashion trends...The return to weaves and Indian details, and their incorporation in western styles is among the best fashion trends today. I also think chikankari work is great.Worst fashion trends... Leggings. I hate leggings and I think it’s a very lazy trend and doesn’t suit the Indian woman, because most of us have short stumpy legs.If you had two minutes to put together the perfect outfit, what would it be? For a day out in the sun, I’d go with blue jeans, a floral shirt, a chunky ring and a beaded neckpiece along with a good pair of sunglasses. Something that is pleasant for the summer.
