About the brand

ESSENTIALS clothing brand comes with a unique design philosophy which has become its trademark and thus separates and makes it different from its competitors. The brand was founded by Jerry Lorenzo who envisioned this line to emphasize timeless pieces across changing fashion trends that should be ‘essential’ in our wardrobe but with a reasonable price and high quality. As it was a hit amongst the people, several local markets started copying the brand with its logo. Thus, let’s see how you can save yourself from purchasing a fake Essentials t-shirt.

2/7

Go through the packaging

One of the first steps is to check the packaging of your product as it should come with a high-quality seal with a sturdy box having the brand logo, product details printed on it, and a seal with the brand’s name. Fake products usually have flimsy packaging with low quality, and often forget about copying the brand’s name on the seal and even on the tape, giving you an indication that it’s a fake parcel.

Take a close look at the tag

One more sign for you is the Essentials clothing tag. The tags are well-made featuring the logo of the brand with clean and clear fonts. If you’re looking at blurry and smudged printing with a poor-quality tag, then it is surely a fake. The easiest way is to check the neck tags. The neck tags usually have incorrect size details with spelling mistakes and more, which would indicate that it's a fake. At times you won’t even find the neck tag.

The logo details

The logo is another critical element to examine and check the authenticity of the brand. They should have a clean and clear logo printed on the garment with stitching on the logo which should be neat and even. Counterfeit products will have uneven stitching with thick letters and poor quality. Also, look at the spacing between the letters around Essentials, mainly around the start and end of the word.

Check the quality

The most noticeable difference between authentic and fake products is the quality of the material. Authentic products are bound of high-quality materials, whereas the stitching also would be neat and clean with a substantial feel in your hands. However, fake products will often use cheaper material and will feel flimsy and low-quality with a difference in weight and plushness.

6/7

The other details

Look out for the clean and even seams, whereas the fake would always come with a sloppy and uneven stitch. The clothing badge is also a great place to start whether your product is fake or not, as simply just look at the badge and letters, which would instantly tell whether it is fake or not. The badge will always be tight, and consistent, and will come with tonal stitching in original products, thus looking out accordingly.

The 60-second checklist

Always check the garment after the first wash, and look at the thickness of the tag. Examine the back of the wash tag for the font and weigh the inconsistencies if found. Always look out for the incorrect text thickness on the neck tag, and inspect the ‘ESSENTIALS’ text on the front with a suitable width. Lastly, check the rubber tag text and see its inconsistencies.
