Remarkable drapes and an amalgamation of fluidity with structured designs have always come across strongly in Shantanu and Nikhil’s collection.
Their Autumn/Winter line, The Last Walk, was no different. The collection, presented on the opening day of the Amazon India Fashion Week AW 2016 in the Capital was a mix of beiges, off-whites and fiery reds.
Explaining the designer duo’s inspiration for this collection, Shantanu said, “The collection imbibes strong signature aesthetics of a Shantanu-Nikhil creation. It is all about a woman who is rediscovering her existence. There were beiges, caramel and red, representing the three moods that we wanted to show in our muse’s life. There is a calming factor in each one of us. Therefore, the use of subtle tones like beiges, off-whites and red represents the strength. The collection is called The Last Walk as it is about a woman who is reborn each day, who has a zest to conquer and confront anything that comes her way. To me, that defines the woman of today. I believe in a strong woman who is materialistic in her look, feminine, but at the same time, clear-headed and opinionated.” Voluminous gowns, gowns with sari drapes and capes in nets with delicate embroidery were a part of the collection.
