While Miss India Universe 2018 Neha Chudasama is out of the competition, another contestant that we were secretly cheering for was Miss Spain, Angela Ponce who is a transgender model. When she won the Miss Spain Universe title in June this year, she had shared, "If my going through all this contributes to the world moving a little step forward, then that's a personal crown that will always accompany me."

Talking about her struggle as a transgender model, Angela had shared how the fashion industry that is constantly stressing on freedom and creativity has called off her assignments the last moment, because they found out that she is a trans woman.

"That often made me burst into tears."
"Today, there are positive references. People speak about the LGBT community, and the transgender community. Before it was always underground and never spoken about. I think that people are more and more informed. All these prejudices come from disinformation,"she said earlier this week.
Angela had told a leading daily that "Trans women have been persecuted and eased for too long. If they give me the crown, it would show trans women are just as much women as cis women."
Even though she could not make it to the top list, all eyes were on Angela today as she competed for the coveted Miss Universe 2018 title.
