Tarun Tahiliani’s whirlwind schedule in the past couple of months has included his couture exposition in Delhi, a show at the India Bridal Week and a holiday that went awry (he was on the same boat as director Homi Adajania, which was caught in a sea incident). But the designer is back to the grind as he prepares for his annual Tarun Tahiliani Couture Exposition in Mumbai.
The two-day extravaganza will feature his signature couture and bridal range at The Gallery, Four Seasons Hotel from August 2-3, between 11am and 7pm.
The collection includes 53 styles mounted against a backdrop of Mughal jade. An array of plastic-thread installations will add to the theatrical setting. Says Tahiliani, “The collection is for brides and grooms as well as their families. Our emphasis has been on creating lightweight ensembles. I love drapes, which feature prominently. We’ve introduced new silhouettes, new lengths for men, etc. There will be a lot of separates for them too.”
The designer will be present at the venue to interact with visitors.
