Lace and tulle offered subtle peeks of washboard abs and toned legs, playing an overt tease with sheer, fitted, floor-length gowns. Asymmetry, puff sleeves and slender tunics in earthy tones of coffee, beige and copper with a dull gold sheen kept the momentum, going with Gaurav pursuing high necks.
Brocade, with its luxe feel, and capes with their casual, chic look showed how two extremes could find fitting representation on the same platform. “I’d say asymmetry and sari-gowns have been our brand’s highs, so much so that even moms-in-law love them, not just brides. A lot of people criticise sari-gowns, as they feel the purity of the sari is being tampered with, but isn’t this the way forward? What’s wrong in being commercial? If it works for me and my clients, it beneficial to both. Where’s the harm?” he asks.
