Sabyasachi to showcase men, women and kids wear

Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee talks to Debarati S Sen about his latest collection that will be unveiled at the Winter-Festive Lakme Fashion Week 2011
Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee will be showcasing his collection at the Lakme Fashion Week 2011 Winter-Festive on August 19. The popular designer’s show this season is about being India proud.
“My show is about a revival of the finer quality khadi.It’s like luxury prêt inspired by North West India and dance schools in South India,” says Sabya. The theme of his collection is about a very progressive India through introspection and is mostly contemporary. The designer says, “This time my line will showcase menswear, women’s wear and kids wear.”

Sabyasachi Mukherjee graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology in 1999 with three major awards. In four months he started his label and early 2001, the designer won the Femina British Council’s most outstanding young Designer of India award, which took him to London for an internship with Georgina Von Etzdorf.
