Over 50 cr biz expected this fashion week
The upcoming edition of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) from October 8-12 in Delhi is going to be bigger than ever.
From what we have learnt, there’ll be over 60 ramp shows, 130 designers, and almost 250 buyers. Some of Mumbai’s most popular names will be present. Delhi designers Gauri and Nainika, Malini Ramani and Nandita Basu will be opening the fashion week.
1x1 polls

FDCI president Sunil Sethi says, “We are a pure B2B event, with a lot of foreign participation. After many years, fashion is being taken seriously. I am grateful to the Ministry of Textile and Ministry of Commerce for their support. The number of foreign buyers will be the highest an FDCI fashion event has ever seen. And the business is there for all to see. We don’t have exact figures, but business generated last season was to the tune of 30-50 crores and this is because the number of buyers has increased now. It’s no surprise that even designers from Mumbai are coming here.”
Names like James Perriera, Savio Jon, Nachiket Barve, Wendell Rodricks, Rahul Mishra and Manish Malhotra from Mumbai are all confirmed. Says Savio, “I’ve been watching Delhi closely, and it looks really promising in terms of buyers and their seriousness.” Nachiket says, “I get a lot of business from Delhi, and this is the first time I’m doing a show there.” Wendell is doing the title sponsor show and had told us earlier that he was looking forward to showing here.
