LFW: Off to a brimming start

Day 1 of Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive was brimming with activity not just on the ramp, but at The Source and Talent Box too..
Aki’s creative brats: Each season, the GenNext show only gets bigger and better. Mentor Aki Narula kept a hawk’s eye over the young designers’ collections for over two months, and presented a fabulous showcase of eight young designer labels.“This pack of brats has been very hardworking. I’m sure they will rock the fashion industry.”
Archana displays her pret line: Designer Archana Kochhar showcased her new pret line ‘Urban Yogini’. Her guests including Kunika Singh, Alka Bhatia (Akshay Kumar’s sister), Krishika Lulla, Luv Sinha, Arjan Bajwa, Queenie Singh, Celina Jaitly, Diana Hayden and others, cheering for her from the front row.
Nishka Lulla kicksoff talent box: Budding young designer Nishka Lulla showcased a bright and girlie line at the new Talent Box @ The Source area.
Gracing the f-row: Actress Karisma Kapur cheered for her niece Alea Motwane at designer Payal Singhal’s show. Chunky and Bhavana Pandey’s daughter Rysa also walked the ramp for the same show. Designer Jatin Varma’s cocktail line was fab too.
Rina Dhaka & J J Valaya: Delhi-based designers Rina Dhaka showcased sheer kurtis, while veteran designer JJ Valaya closed the day with a stunning couture line, with his Alika jacket continuing to be reinterpreted in new ways.
