Renowned celebrity designer Nandita Mahtani marked two decades in the fashion industry with a star-studded fashion show in Mumbai, drawing the attendance of Bollywood's elite. To commemorate the special occasion, she had her long-time friend and filmmaker Karan Johar grace the ramp as her showstopper.
Having made his ramp debut with Nandita Mahtani in 2007, Karan Johar donned a bespoke oversized blazer adorned with hand-crusted, diamond-etched embroidery on silk velvet. The statement piece was expertly paired with ultra-wide pants, showcasing the designer's signature style.
Expressing his sentiments, Karan Johar shared, "I have known Nandita for decades now, and walking today is not just about fashion, it’s about friendship, love, and a retrospective reflection of the past. The first time I ever walked on the ramp was for Nandi, and this time around it's equally special!"
Nandita Mahtani's collection for the milestone event featured resort prints that added a whimsical touch, celebrating the journey of her 20-year career. The color palette unfolded like chapters, ranging from soft nudes to pristine whites, bold blacks to vibrant pops of pink and red. The collection showcased a blend of celebration and style, with Y2K influences evident in oversized blazers paired with shirts, mini skirts paired with heart-shaped tops, and a generous dose of sequins, bringing a contemporary flair to her designs.
