“A blend of vintage flamboyant flora fused with age-old Hyderabadi zardozi, the breezy line has a whiff of old world charm,” says the young designer, who’s an MBA graduate from the Cardiff University in Wales, UK. She started her eponymous label in 2011.
At her show, you’ll see traditional Hyderabadi zardozi embroidery on fluid fabrics like chiffons, georgettes, and nets, done by skilled karigars for whom the craft is an ancestral trade carried forward from the Nizam era.
The design philosophy lies in creating elaborate silhouettes brewed with subtle prints, surprising embellishments with passionate attention to detail. The label stands out for its burst of vivacious colours, drama and glamour. The summer-friendly colour palette ranges from pastel and soft nudes to peaches, vintage rose pink and beige, moving into brighter tones likes shaded yellow, fuchsia pink and jewel tones. A drift of pastels with an allusion of antique royalty is plunged into a burst of flora to present the dreamy vintage princess
