Drama, couture style

When we first entered the show area of the HDIL India Couture Week held at the Grand Hyatt, the pillow-like props on the runway left us a tad confused.
It was only when the show started that we realised that, keeping in tune with the theme of Ritu Kumar���s collection, the runway was replicate of the Jaisalmer fort.
It���s common knowledge that fashion shows start late.This time though, the rain Gods gave the organisers ample reason for an extensive one hour delay. And who better to apologise for the delay than the master of drama Karan Johar himself. After making an interesting apology he even promised the audience that by the end of the HDIL ICW, he would definitely get the pronunciation of couture right!
A mix of yesteryear���s supermodels ��� Anna Bredmeyer, Noyonika Chatterjee, Sonalika Oberoi and Shyamolee Verma ��� and the current crop of models including Dipannita Sharma, Jesse Randhawa, Amruta Patki and others walked the ramp. The other highlight of the show were the three Miss Indias PFMI-World 2008 Parvathy Omanakuttan, PFMI-Earth 2008 Tanvi Vyas and Radha Brahmabhatt, and Bollywood hotties Neha Dhupia and the sibling duo of Riya and Raima Sen. The show stopper was Priyanka Chopra.
Gracing the front row was HDIL���s MD Sunny Dewan Wadhawan with his beautiful wife Anu. Also spotted were Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi, the ever gorgeous looking yet reticent Moon Moon Sen with her husband Bharat Dev Verma, Gul Panag and Natasha Poonawalla. Also present were Priyanka���s parents Ashok and Madhu Chopra.
