The Day 1 of India Couture Week 2018 began with high notes of glamour and sizzling Bollywood showstoppers. Ace designers Tarun Tahiliani and Anju Modi showcased their grand collections which were graced by Aditi Rao Hydari and Kangana Ranaut.
Tarun Tahiliani presented his 'In Elysium' Couture & Occasion Wear collection. It featured shimmery florals, weightless drapes in classic Indian styles and embroideries. The highlight of the collection was the Swarovski gems, which were woven into embroidery techniques of chikankari, zardosi, zari and shadow-work. The showstopper, Aditi walked in a beautiful pink lehenga featuring intricate embroidery and design details. It was paired with an asymmetrical blouse, which was beautifully draped with a sheer fabric. A long veil on her head, a choker and matching earrings rounded off her look.
Anju Modi presented her 'A Maiden's Prayer' collection inspired by the vintage and Victorian era. The ensembles were all about exaggerated silhouettes, grandiose sleeves, fancy collars. Kangana dazzled on the ramp in a beige crop top and skirt, which was paired with a red velvet cape. "I feel Kangana added to the old world charm of the era as she too has that enigmatic aura that catches the eye and holds the heart. The ostentatious vintage charisma is here to captivate one and all with every detail of this range”, concluded the designer.
