Day 2 BTFW: Ashfaque Ahmad and Timsy Dhawan bring SEXY to the ramp!

On the second day, the third show of the ongoing Bombay Times Fashion Week amazed the fashion lovers with its collection of gowns, cocktail dresses, and fusion wear. Designers Ashfaque Ahmad and Timsy Dhawan were high on fashion, finesse and left the audience wanting for more.

The designer is known for his glittery cocktail and evening gowns. Today, he portrayed the evening wear for women of all shapes and sizes.

Ashfaque’s muse for this mersmerising collection is every Indian woman who loves the way she is. He feels zeal and confidence are the only accessories needed to pull off these gowns to perfection.

The collection is soaked in nude and pastel shades like peach, beige and cream and the fabrics used are chiffon, georgette, satin, and raw silk. The designer is known for his see-through gowns that are perfect for red carpet occasions. “I want to tell every woman to be confident and wear what makes you feel happy. It is too mainstream to follow the world; try to be innovative and celebrate your sexiness in the best possible way,” opined the designer.

Nehal Chudasama, Yamaha Fascino Miss Diva Universe 2018, walked the ramp for Ashfaque Ahmad. The model shared, “It feels like Ashfaque‘s gowns are made for Miss Universe and today I actually feel like one. I love body-hugging clothes and bright colours and his work totally suits my wardrobe.”

Timsy Dhawan's collection is designed for a woman who is sharp, intelligent and feels confident in whatever she wears. The designer believes in ‘everything larger than life’ and the same is weaved in her collection.

Her latest collection gives a sharp (and sensuous!) twist to every outfit and even a simple lehenga is presented with a twist. To justify the bold and sensuous soul of the collection, she has used colours like red, maroon and green. The softer nude hues are for women with delicate personality.

The silhouettes are inspired by fusion wear. Fabrics used for the collection includes georgette, chiffon and organza with intricate hand embroidery, pearl and crystal.

A confident Timsy said she is her own muse. She added that if she doesn’t feel confident in what she wears, she can't make anyone else wear the same. Relaxing backstage Timsy shared, "Once you see the collection, the first thought that will come to your mind will be bold, stylish and sensuous. We all are fashion-driven and wish for things that can break the monotony of our daily style sense. I am sure that the collection will justify that urge and make every woman own my work in their wardrobe."

Shreya Rao, Femina Miss India 2018 second runner-up, expressed, “I feel sexy in this shimmery black outfit and as the designer said, I also felt confident and sensuous wearing this dress. Such body-hugging clothes are my favourite. Also, it is for the first time I have walked as a showstopper. So, I have mixed feelings. On one side, I felt privileged and on the other side, I felt nervous before walking the ramp. I guess my crown gives me all the confidence I need. Thank you, Bombay Times.”
