Introducing Nakul Bhardwaj: First Indian male model to walk the ramp for Versace
Twenty-one-year-old Nakul Bhardwaj has created history by being the first male model from India to walk for Italian luxury brand Versace at its Spring Summer 2025 show during Milan Fashion Week. This is a milestone for Indian representation in the world of high fashion and an inspiration for Desi talent to take on global platforms.
Milan Fashion Week turned out to be Nakul's big opportunity and that marks a great change for Indian aspirants who want to make it big in the world of fashion. Earlier, it was the Western models who dominated the fashion scene, but with big fashion houses like Versace wanting to be the harbinger of change when it comes to changing the landscape of fashion, youngsters like Nakul have a great opportunity to make it big.
Nakul got the chance of a lifetime as he walked the ramp along with other international models who took to the stage for other diverse high-end luxury brands.
This is, of course not to be forgotten that the success that Nakul has achieved is along the path forged by Avanti Nagrath in 2022, when she emerged as the first Indian female model to open a show for Versace. Together, these feats underline the fact that with time Indian models will have much more lucrative opportunities on the global fashion stage and richness of talent from India.
With Nakul Bhardwaj moving into this new chapter of his life, his is one of those journeys giving hopes to so many aspiring models out there who prove that if you are hardworking, dedicated, and little lucky, you can definitely make your dreams come to life on some of the world's most prestigious stages.
