Weddings are nothing less than a carnival of dreams and ambitions in India, feel Delhi-based designer duo Shantanu and Nikhil Mehra. And that’s the core philosophy the duo has adhered to while creating their latest couture line for the ongoing edition of the Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week.

This fall/winter, bridal couture for the duo is about a soft and beautiful bride, who loves everything chic, contemporary and feminine.
And that’s what the designers are offering through their line, characterised by vintage glamour. Their modern lehengas, new-age saris and volume gowns all follow the same ideology.
The collection, which features Shruti Haasan as their muse for this season, is an interplay of hand-woven Indian fabrics with French lace and soft nets, and is high on volume. The designers, who are celebrating 12 years of their brand, will present their collection this Saturday, September 15, at the Bridal Week in Mumbai. Say the designers, “Our brand has taken a deeper, less obvious take on exotic fusion. We’ve always been known to play eternal femininity with fluid drapery.”
They add that the scale on which weddings are celebrated in India created a place for a platform like the Bridal Week to come up and that’s why they’ve associated with it. Says Vijay Singh, Bridal Week founder and chairman, “Shantanu and Nikhil are one of the most talented couture designers in India. The designers, known for their high couture designs, have been part of the brand since its inception and contributed a lot to its growth.”
