There are certain fashion designers who have left an indelible mark on the industry, defining the very essence of style. From Gianni Versace to Coco Chanel, these designers have built legacies that continue to influence fashion today. In India,
Sabyasachi Mukherjee stands as a figure who has redefined the traditional craftsmanship of Indian culture, giving new meaning to luxury. With each design telling its own unique story, Sabyasachi has become one of the most revered names in Indian fashion, perhaps even the ‘Last Maharaja’ of the Indian fashion world.
His Kolkata mansion embodies his artistry in every corner, and his flagship store in the city mirrors this vision. Overflowing with opulence and elegance, VJ-turned-content creator Shenaz Treasury recently visited the store and was awestruck by its grandeur and rich, artistic ambiance. The store, much like a shrine to Sabyasachi’s legacy, tells a story in every corner, each space offering its own red-carpet-worthy moment.

In a video shared from the store, Shenaz walked down the staircase, offering a glimpse of Sabyasachi’s vision, which felt like stepping into a vintage art piece untouched by time. The store is bold and vibrant, inspired by the aesthetics of Kolkata, with intricate details and a carefully curated selection of the designer's finest creations, displayed like stunning murals. Shenaz also revealed the staggering rent the designer pays for the space, approximately Rs 20 lakh per month, which left her fans shocked. In Mumbai, Sabyasachi’s rent is even higher, at around Rs 2 crore per month.
The store's lavish decor, from antique photo frames and mesmerizing chandeliers to plush velvet sofas, makes the space resemble a fine museum, exuding both luxury and sophistication. Shenaz also tried on a stunning red bridal lehenga worth Rs 8 lakh and shared that the most expensive piece of jewelry in the store is priced at Rs 4 crore. Sabyasachi’s commitment to maximalist luxury proves that for him, fashion is not just business, it’s a passion and an art form.
