Nida Mahmood may be inspired by Bollywood, but the designer is all set to make her Hollywood debut – by way of her clothes. New York-based writer-director Tanuj Chorpa, who’s earlier movie “Punching At The Sun” premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2006, contacted Nida and expressed interest in having her design the ensembles for his next film.
After exchanging a few mails, says Nida, we knew we’d get along creatively and I agreed.
“The experience has been great. The movie is a futuristic thriller named “PIA”. The movie is set to release this year and Nida, expectedly, can hardly wait for it to hit the big screen.
She says, “We used almost 5,000 button cells on an ensemble; in fact, I had myself stuck these all night long on to the dress. It was exhausting, but really worth it all.”
