Designer Amit Aggarwal is known for adding shape and structure to fabrics. His couture label's mainstay identity lies in the fashion fantasy of architecture and structure. With the brand focused on sustainable development, Amit has been also been successful in showcasing repurposed patola saris and vintage Benarasi weaves on the ramp. And now, the designer is all set to make his debut at India Couture Week 2018.

The designer has focussed on engineering modern and innovative silhouettes inspired by nature's forms and are blended with India's rich textile heritage. He will be presenting the Crystalis ( an amalgamation of crystal and chrysalis) collection on the third day of fashion week. The collection has been inspired by the formation of crystals at a molecular level and the enveloping of the metallic chrysalis —which is the pupal stage of butterflies.

The design process has been inspired by the making of crystal. Unique materials are forged together to create a singular unit and then repeated to create complex patterns, textiles and embroidery. The form and texture are also in sync are designed to be sharp, angular and crystalline in appearance.

The metallic encasing around the butterfly cocoon has also been the aesthetic influence behind the collection. The collection will focus on metallic and crystalline textiles, which are sculpted and draped. The colour palette of the collection will be in tones of rose quartz, silver onyx, emerald, amethyst, topaz and sapphire. The designer has also picked metallic shades like rose gold, silver, pewter and light gold.

Three-dimensional embroideries have been explored for the collection. This time the designer has also collaborated with textile designer, Tanira Sethi. The collab will bring out one-of-a-kind engineered and embellished cashmere laces, meticulously knitted in France. The textiles have been subsequently embroidered and sculpted in-house to create innovatively draped couture piece.
