Having visited Ahmedabad several times in the past, Anju feels inspired to visit the city again and again to delve into the citys rich handicrafts and textile scenario. As far as Ahmedabads fashion scenario is concerned, she feels that the city has developed quite a fashion sense in the recent past and that she really respects the Gujarati community as they dont mind spending but they mind wasting.
They are very smart and astute about their expenses. I have observed that Amdavadis are as trendy as people from any other cosmopolitan city in India, he says.
Anju believes in designing garments that look different every time when teamed up with something new. I like to style dresses that last for years. India is a tropical country and as there is not much variation in the temperature, so one doesnt really need to change ones wardrobe much.
I like to recycle clothes. For starters if you team a particular top with pants, salwar or skirt, this can change the entire look and you can easily look different and creative every time, says Anju. So what is the fashion quotient this summer? This summer handloom fabrics, khadi, cotton and matka silk are the best picks to look cool and trendy, says the fashionista signing off.
