Punjabi aa gaye oye! Diljit Dosanjh sets the Emmys 2025 red carpet on fire

Diljit Dosanjh brings quiet glamour to the International Emmy Awards 2025

Diljit Dosanjh lit up the International Emmy Awards 2025 red carpet in New York, not with flamboyance but with a restrained, luminous elegance that perfectly captured his evolving global star persona. India may not have taken home an Emmy this year, but Dosanjh ensured the country was unforgettable on the fashion front.

2/6

A red-carpet moment steeped in Punjabi flair

Walking the carpet at the 53rd International Emmy Awards, Dosanjh carried himself with the quiet confidence of an artist deeply rooted in his craft. His Netflix film Amar Singh Chamkila had earned two major nominations - Best Actor for his own performance and Best TV Movie/Mini-Series and his appearance reflected the calm pride of someone who knows his work has already made an impact.

Rather than leaning into loud sparkle or experimental silhouettes, Dosanjh chose subtlety with intention, letting his heritage and poise do the talking.

3/6

The sequin jacket that stole the spotlight

The highlight of his ensemble was a refined champagne-beige sequin blazer that played beautifully with the red carpet lighting. Instead of a bold, glitter-heavy finish, the sequins were set tightly across the surface, creating a smooth, almost liquid shimmer - elegant, muted and exceptionally polished.

Sharp shoulders, glossy lapels, and a meticulously structured cut elevated the jacket into a masterclass of modern menswear glamour. It was the kind of statement piece that didn’t shout; it gleamed.

Underneath, Dosanjh wore a crisp ivory shirt that softened the look while maintaining structure. A black velvet bow tie added a dose of classic red-carpet formality, its matte texture breaking the shine in the most refined way.

4/6

Minimalist tailoring meets signature identity

The lower half of his look was purposefully simple, straight-cut black trousers tailored to perfection and free of any additional sheen. The contrast grounded the blazer and kept the composition balanced.

But the real anchor of the entire ensemble was his signature black turban, immaculately tied. Paired with his well-groomed beard, it added gravitas, cultural grounding, and that unmistakable Diljit Dosanjh charm. Few global celebrities command such presence while staying authentically themselves, and this look proved it.

5/6

A bittersweet night for Amar Singh Chamkila

While Dosanjh’s sartorial moment stole attention, the evening brought disappointment for the Chamkila team. Despite strong buzz and two high-profile nominations, the film walked away without a win.

Dosanjh lost in the Best Actor category to Oriol Pla for I, Addict, while the film itself was edged out by Lost Boys & Fairies in the Best TV Movie/Mini-Series category. Also competing in the actor category were David Mitchell (Ludwig) and Diego Vasquez (One Hundred Years of Solitude), while the film faced strong contenders such as Herrhausen: The Banker and the Bomb and Victory of Death.

6/6

A star whose style keeps getting sharper

Awards or not, Dosanjh delivered one of the evening’s most memorable red-carpet looks, a blend of global luxury and Punjabi pride. With every international appearance, he continues to redefine what Indian representation on world stages can look like: rooted, refined and unapologetically stylish.
