'Mrs Deshpande' Madhuri Dixit proves the era of the pantsuit isn’t done yet with this skirted reinvention
In the Bollywood fashion industry, there are a handful of stars who have truly evolved with time, and Madhuri Dixit is fairly in this league. This '90s diva proved that her wardrobe is stacked up with more than just classy ethnic sets but a range of unpredictable couture that will literally leave you in utter shock. But don’t worry, she did it in the most iconic manner.
The 'Mrs Deshpande' actor's latest fashion outing only further proved her style prowess, as she opted for a thoughtful, tailored outfit and added a twist to this sharp silhouette with modern layering, giving a lesson in power dressing. She shared a series of images on her Instagram, where the diva is looking all poised and playful, embodying elegance with a contemporary edge.
Madhuri chose a chocolate-brown co-ord set from Sage by Mala, which is a renowned label known for reworking classic ensembles with a modern lens. She worked up a fitted blazer featuring a structured double collar with a clean notch lapel and neatly folded sleeves. What truly elevated the couture was the unexpected pairing.
She ditched the usual tailored trousers and opted for a matching long maxi skirt, which created a fluid silhouette that added a hint of softness to the blazer. The monochrome palette worked beautifully in her favour; the elongated frame allowed the tailoring to be the main point, and a hint of leopard print drama peeking right under the blazer added just the right amount of charm.
The diva carried an intentional styling saga and kept her accessories polished yet impactful. She opted for gold-toned earrings with a stacked ring set and completed the look with a pair of black Chelsea boots. For the glam front, Madhuri sported smoky eyes with winged eyeliner strokes, a kohl finish, blushed cheeks, and finished it with a brown-toned lip that tied the outfit’s colour palette.
Leaving her locks down in soft curls with a subtle section pinned back, Madhuri Dixit was able to strike the right balance between being effortless and looking absolutely refined. By swapping the trousers for a matching skirt, she transformed an already powerful look into something that holds the potential to become a trend.
