Lady Gaga brings mayhem, magic, and, memories to the Coachella 2025 performance, and fashionistas are delighted!

Could Lady Gaga ever disappoint us? Not a chance. Not even in our wildest nightmares!

On Friday night, as Lady Gaga returned to the Coachella 2025 stage, she surely brought some mayhem to the desert. The Mother Monster paid homage to her new (Mayhem) as well as biggest hits from the past (including 'Poker Face', 'Paparazzi', 'Judas' and 'Bad Romance' in the nearly two-hour-long epic performance. She embodied the dark gothic glamour of her Mayhem era and left fashionistas nostalgic by bringing back some of her iconic looks. In short, it was mayhem, magic, and memories, all rolled into one.

Bloody Mary

Lady Gaga kicked off her five-act show with the 'Blood Mary' and it was drama at its peak. The giant red gothic ensemble with a cape designed by Sam Lewis grabbed eyeballs and it was as bold and loud as Gaga's persona. The dress somewhat inspired by Lady Macbeth's costume was literally larger than life. While her fans are blown away by the Tudor gown, a section of netizens weren't happy with her gothic look.

"Lady Gaga performs a satanic ritual during Coachella, wearing a blood-red dress while singing Bloody Mary. She chants, "Like Jesus said, I'm gonna dance, dance, dance," in a performance filled with dark and disturbing symbolism. At one point, she acts as if she’s possessed by a demon," a netizen wrote on X. It was followed by 'Abracadabra', 'Judas', 'Garden of Eden' and 'Poker Face'.

During the second act, she slipped into a white corseted gown designed by Dilara Findikoglu, and half-buried herself in the sand with skeletons. The electrifying performance received a matching response from the crowd.


Paparazzi

Lady Gaga left her fans nostalgic as she brought back the metallic crutches and helmet for her 'Paparazzi' performance. She wore an ethereal white gown along with it and her recreation left the viewers emotional. Her ensemble resembled Alexander McQueen's fall 2003 'Scanners' show. Given that Lady Gaga is a longtime fan of McQueen ensembles, it really made sense. She also made a McQueen reference while performing ‘Poker Face’. She paid homage to McQueen’s Spring 2005 It’s Only a Game collection, with a chessboard-inspired black queen outfit.

Her fans raved about how Gaga managed to transition from chaos to calm with 'brilliant stage direction and soft lighting, creating a powerful shift from fear to warmth'.



Bad Romance
Lady Gaga slipped into a white feathered bodysuit and gloves with exaggerated fingers for the finale act 'Bad Romance'. She was nothing short of angelic in the ensemble. As Gaga sang, “I want your love, and I want your revenge… I want your love, I don't wanna be friends,” the crowd erupted into an ecstasy.
