Kamala Harris makes powerful fashion debut at Met Gala 2025

Kamara, known for his thoughtful design language and commitment to heritage storytelling, revealed that the look was crafted to honour Harris’s unique blend of grace and gravitas. “The precise simplicity of this design complements her strength and confidence, two pillars of modern dandyism,” Kamara told The Hollywood Reporter.


The gown, anchored by a dramatic single sleeve and an ivory silk scarf detail, was a refreshing shift from Harris's usual public image. While retaining the dignified sharpness we associate with her, the look also radiated contemporary glamour and quiet rebellion, an intentional nod to the theme’s exploration of tailoring, identity, and cultural legacy.

This year’s Met Gala celebrated Black style and craftsmanship in menswear through the lens of the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition. The prestigious lineup of co-chairs included Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams, A$AP Rocky, and the ever-iconic Anna Wintour. LeBron James, initially announced as an honorary chair, had to withdraw due to a knee injury.
