Once a '90s icon, always a queen

90s popular contemporary queens and real-life cousins Rani Mukerji and Kajol recently shared the stage in Mumbai, which took us back to their hit era. The duo showed their support for a scholarship programme dedicated to supporting the young girls from BMC schools. The reigning fashion queens proved with their appearance that they still can work the room and filled the event with warmth and poise with their chic and elegant ethnic appearances. Let’s decode their ensembles, which are perfect for twinning this wedding season.

Kajol in delicate cream

Kajol wore the Sehmat kurta and pant set by the brand Lajjooc, featuring a full-sleeved kaftan kurta with delicate gold work around the neckline. It came with a thick white and golden border that ran along the hemline and carried a subtle fluidity that looked comfortable and subtle. She teamed this with matching white straight-legged satin pants decorated with gold embroidery and completed her styling with subtle jewellery and pointy-toe heels. Her chic outfit comes with a price tag of Rs 94,900.

Hair and makeup for the lady

Kajol managed to keep things as natural as possible, but her outfit demanded a hint of glam. She opted for a subtle dewy foundation base and kept defined eyebrows with dark kohl eyes, brown-muted eyeshadow, a sleek eyeliner stroke, and mascara-laden eyelashes. She completed the look with bronzed cheeks, a highlighted top, and a subtle nude shade of lipstick, which looked perfect with her white and cream setup.

Rani Mukerji’s off-white floral allure

Nothing can beat the combination of Rani Mukerji and Sabyasachi. The diva surely outdid her cousin and opted for an off-white Sabyasachi kurta featuring wide-legged pants with floral motifs, which was matched with a long A-line kurta. Rani further threw in a sheer white dupatta with the same shade and print and gold borders, which added some visual depth to her look. This carefree white floral touch has quite a versatile note, and we surely loved every bit of it.

Refraining from styling touch

Rani understood the assignment to make the ensemble the centre of attention. She carried a soft and subtle styling sense and was simply spotted in a pair of oversized gold wired frames, with little stud earrings and a few stacks of rings. She kept her hair straight with soft curls at the end and rounded off her makeup look with a natural-dewy base, refined eyebrows, and pink nude lips, which matched with her blooming ethnic fit.
