Bow ties are passe, Amitabh Bachchan just introduced us to tie bows

He is often called the star of the millenium and he surely dresses like a star. We are talking about none other than India's biggest superstar, Amitabh Bachchan. The man with the choicest of words, amusing antics and classiest style - that's Big B for you. The actor who made it fashionable to be a television host in India, is back to doing what he does the best - anchoring the thirteenth season on India's biggest quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati and no prizes for guessing that he is slaying in his trademark suits, this time around with a new addition - the tie bow.

What is a tie bow?

Well, what Amitabh is flaunting in the current season of the show is a tie bow inspired by the Victorian cravat, which was originally a wide piece of cloth that men of the era tied around their neck and wore inside the collar of their shirt.

3/7

Who designed it?

The credit of designing the tie bow goes to Amitabh Bachchan's stylist Priya Patil, the woman behind Priya Patil Studio, a label known for its bespoke clothing and accessories, exclusively designed for men.

4/7

The lady behind Amitabh's KBC look

If you are wondering who is Priya Patil, here's a little something about her. Priya has worked with Amitabh Bachchan for more than a decade and the tie bow is her invention as she wanted to try something new this season. In an interview to TV9, Priya said that the bow is made of a cloth like tie and applied to the shirt along with the suit. So while, last year, she experimented with brooches on Big B's suits, this time she thought of reinventing the tie.

The story of knots

So what makes Big B's look so unique besides his plush suits? Well, it's his ties! Yes, the most well-dressed man also flaunts the choicest of ties. Since a few seasons he's experimenting with a lot of different techiniques of tying the knots like the Eldredge knot, Trinity knot, Rose knot and Resurrection knot.

6/7

Big B's Italian suits

Believe it or not, the fabric for all the suits that are worn by Mr Bachchan is procured from Italy. The fabrics of Big B's suits have a thread count of 120. Also, the fabric chosen is mostly comprising checks and solid colours.

7/7

Even the buttons are imported

The buttons on Amitabh's suits are also imported from variety of countries like Italy, Thailand etc.
