Ananya Panday’s corset-style Manish Malhotra saree is where old-world opulence meets it-girl edge
When Ananya Panday steps into a room, the actress barely whispers but makes a loud noise with her unique fashion notes. And, this time was the same. The diva arrived in sculpted finesse and wore a black and gold corset-style saree, picked from the collection of the fashion maestro Manish Malhotra.
Delivering a masterclass in modern couture, this piece is opulence meets razor-sharp tailoring, which simply made everything look absolutely ravishing. Leaning towards the notes of romance and nostalgia, she pinched a hint of something modern and architectural, defining the lines and angles and giving a deliberate structure to the look.
Ananya wore a stunning MM saree, which abandoned the idea of anything traditional and was a single pre-stitched piece that looked fuss-free and was sharply tailored. The dark black hue with a golden border looked elegant, but the standout detailing had to be the waisted corset, which created a cinched stiffness and elongated her overall frame.
The stunning craftsmanship soon shifted from the soft ceremonial touch to something powerful and feminine at the same time. Rather than depending on layers of pleats, she kept the silhouette in control and played with the fluid hemline at the front. This restraint and movement created a striking overall visual rhythm, making a strong and steady impact.
Talking about the beautiful gold floral-accented border, which looked like an heirloom filigree art, it was placed intentionally by the designer, where he infused a rich depth into the light-absorbing black shade. At the edge of the pallu, slender tassels added a beautiful motion and caught the light mid-stride, delivering a timeless and luxurious memory.
Without tipping into the concept of excess, Ananya kept things minimal and said no to having any accessories on her. She opted for a dewy makeup base, with muted eyeshadow, winged eyeliner, soft pink cheeks, and a mauve lip shade. Leaving her hair down in soft waves, she made us fall in love with something so basic, yet so iconic.
This piece definitely felt generational and is perfect for women who wish to carry quiet luxury aesthetics with couture and contemporary design.
