Giving a glimpse of her Ganpati Puja this year, she was seen in a Masaba Gupta ‘Patakha’ saree, which features Rajasthani arches and Mughal butis and is dipped in a bright pink shade. She became the canvas for this alluring story, which took more than 275 hours of embroidery and was pure sass.

The six yards of grace featured jharokha motifs that echoed haveli windows, crafted via appliqué and bright golden patchwork. The buttis shimmered high across the main bodice, whereas the woven zari border anchored the traditional frame. The designer’s signature vibrant pink moment added elegance and regality to this heritage piece.Alia paired the saree with a strappy tie-back blouse with a lean structure, which came with fuss-free detailing and instantly uplifted the ornate drapes. The match allowed the craftsmanship to speak for itself and aligned with Alia’s personality, which came with a soft royalty.
She added a pair of oversized temple-style jhumkas, detailed with elephants, which turned out to be the hero of the hour. This temple jewellery spoke about prosperity, wisdom, and auspicious beginnings and was a perfect touch for Ganesh Chaturthi. The symbolic choice of jewellery was put together by stylist Priyanka Kapadia Badani, who paired them with a stack of golden bangles and a golden statement ring. Alia chose to ditch the necklace, allowing her jhumkas to take the steering wheel. But Alia didn’t just stop there, as she also wore a comfortable sleeveless full-length striped print kurta-pyjama set, dipped in light blue and pastel green, for the intimate celebration at home. She completed the look with an organza dupatta and elegantly posed with her sasu-maa, Neetu Kapoor.
