Akshay Kumar is embracing gender-fluid fashion, but these flared pants missed the style memo

Akshay Kumar is known for his fine acting chops, Khiladi-kumar energy, disciplined actions, and a style statement that usually sticks to basic and neutral drops. Captured in crisp t-shirts, cargo pants, or athleisure releases, his sharp and neat fashion picks speak a lot about his nonchalant and confident personality.

But, recently, he stumbled into a look that raised everyone’s eyebrows about his non-caring attitude, leaving the internet and his fans utterly disappointed. For his airport visit a couple of days ago, the actor chose a basic black t-shirt and teamed it with square-printed loose pants, which looked like they came straight out of his wife Twinkle Khanna’s wardrobe.

The pants instantly became the highlight and could only be described as ‘chaotic’. Though it looked super comfortable, the bold print clashed with the super-flared pattern, which screamed neither couture nor comfort at the end. This hilarious pair of pants was more than enough to start their own press conference, but with no one in attendance.



The pair seemed as if Akshay picked something from Goa’s flea market and teamed it up as a backup. The bright mismatched motifs with the odd geometry and colour palette seemed directionless at one point. Akshay Kumar could have swapped it with a pair of fitted joggers or comfortable black summer shorts; then the whole look would have led him in the direction of a superstar, which he already is.

He completed the look with a pair of orange-tinted sunglasses and a pair of black sandals and styled his hair, stroking it backwards with gel. If the ‘Padman’ star insists on keeping the print, his only saving grace would be a fitted minimal tee with a pair of crisp white sneakers. But, for now, Khiladi Kumar should stick with his rugged basics.
