Aditi Rao Hydari’s regal anarkali will make you believe in Mughal-era romance all over again
There is nothing more pious and alluring than witnessing Aditi Rao Hydari in a stunning ethnic ensemble. The diva proved her traditional fashion prowess in Heeramandi and Padmavat, where she twirled and moved effortlessly in iconic anarkalis, making us fall in love with this century-old silhouette all over again.
Once again, she reminded us why anarkalis have always been more than just a garment. Named after a Mughal courtesan whose story became legend and transformed the very dress code of the Mughal courts, the anarkali has, over time, evolved with new silhouettes and embroideries, yet its graceful flow and structure have remained unchanged.
Aditi Rao Hydari’s recent look took us straight back into history. She wore Torani’s ‘Dil Rang Zareen’ anarkali set, part of the label’s ‘Juloos’ collection. Crafted in slub silk and pieced together from floral panels in mustard yellow, green, and pink, the ensemble looked like a spring garden brought to life.
She paired it with a grounded churidaar and topped it with a navy organza dupatta, creating a dreamy, painterly effect. Styled by Sanam Ratansi, Aditi was adorned with golden chandbalis featuring cascading tiers of kundan, pearls, and meenakari detailing, striking the perfect balance of drama and elegance.
The statement earrings framed her jawline and carried a Mughal-inspired essence, which was balanced by a single solitaire-style ring. Her beauty look was kept soft yet defined with kohl-smudged eyes, brushed-up brows, and a hint of petal-pink lipstick against naturally glowing skin.
With her hair left in soft waves and parted neatly in the middle, the entire styling transported us to the Mughal era, serving as a subtle yet powerful reminder that century-old silhouettes never lose their charm. This look feels like it has been lifted from a treasured memory, and we are here for every detail of the story.
