Ditching conventional red carpet glamour, the actor made headlines for embracing traditional Indian aesthetics, most notably, sporting sindoor (vermillion) in the parting of her hair. Fans have declared her radiant red saree avatar as one of the most memorable and graceful looks from Cannes this year.

Wearing a fiery red Mashru saree from Raw Mango with a subtle blue border, Aditi channelled timeless beauty. She paired the saree with a sleeveless red blouse and accessorised with a bold necklace and statement earrings. But what truly made her look iconic was the deep red bindi and a prominent streak of sindoor, a meaningful symbol of marital status in Indian culture, that beautifully anchored the ensemble.


Taking to Instagram, Aditi shared photos of her look with a succinct yet heartfelt caption: “I Cannes ❤️”. The internet was quick to react, showering the actor with praise for choosing to wear something so rooted in Indian tradition at an international event. Aditi’s sindoor moment at Cannes also holds deeper significance, as it follows her marriage to actor Siddharth last year. The couple tied the knot in a traditional South Indian ceremony at the Sri Ranganayakaswamy Temple in Telangana. For the wedding, Aditi wore a regal Sabyasachi lehenga, while Siddharth complemented her in a silk kurta and handwoven dhoti, also by Sabyasachi.
