Most women love following trends and buying a few fashionable items, which are secretly damaging our health. From coloured underwear to shopper bags, here's a list of 8 such items which are ruining your health.

​Skinny jeans and tights

One of the biggest hazards in your closet is this one. Skinny jeans and even tights compress the nerves, which reduces the blood flow to the lower legs. And not just that, skinny fits also harm your skin, which can lead to fungal and bacterial infections, which can also get serious.

​Thongs

If you're a thong fan, then you're at risk of getting an infection easily. As you move, sit and walk, the fabric of thong also moves and can carry rectal bacteria to your vagina and even bladder. Ill-fitted underwears and skimpy fabrics only make things worse! And, as most of the thongs are made of shiny and silky-kind fabrics, they trap the bacteria.

Do you spend hours choosing the perfect coloured underwear? Fabric dyes can actually irritate the delicate skin down there and cause infection. Most dyes are synthetic on artificial fabrics, which means white cotton ones are the safest to pick.

Repetitive use of such flats can cause injuries. One should choose flats with strong arch support and cupped heels. Also, go for thicker straps to secure your foot from injuries.

From too-stretched straps to tight-fits, poorly fitted bras can cause a lot of health problems. They are not just unconformable but are associated with neck, back and shoulder pain. Also, they cause bad posture and skin irritation.

Many women often get addicted to wearing shapewear to get a smooth shape and silhouette. What's worse is that they can actually squeeze your digest tract, which can cause acid reflux and stomach pain. It's best to avoid shapewear on a regular basis and use only when required.
