This year, the actress won the best-supporting-actress Oscar for her role in ‘Fences’. She is the first African-American actress to receive three nominations at Oscars.

In her acceptance speech, Viola was quoted as saying: “People ask me all the time—what kind of stories do you want to tell, Viola? And I say: exhume those bodies; exhume those stories, the stories of the people who dreamed.”
“I became an artist, and thank God I did because we are the only profession that celebrates what it means to live a life”, she added.



She was spotted wearing a pop of colour on the red carpet. She pulled off a red gown with a halter neckline. She is known for pulling off bold looks, last year she was spotted wearing a bright yellow gown. And this year, she aced the red-hot look!
